First #fail for Facebook ads

  1. If you checked the past post I was thinking to make the first Ad for the project using FaceBook.
  2. The idea was to prove that even flying to other continent would not affect the realization of that task.
  3. The truth is that Facebook had some problems with the ad and it was not published while I was traveling to NY and back home.
  4. That means: We can't trust fully on automatic tools.

This one is the first real experiment! From the 1st of March I will be running a Facebook Ad that will promote the “A Thousand Web Sites Project” page in Facebook itself. The step is very important because we will see exact numbers of money spent and number of new page fans. The reasons why I decided to start with Facebook: A Facebook page is connected with the Blog; that means that each new post in the Blog will automatically update the Facebook Page and the Tweeter account. Why would I wish to write a Blog post if no body would really read it? Facebook ads tool provides statistics. I targeted countries far from home: US, UK, Belgium. And I didn’t invite any person from my contact list. Tomorrow I will be going to a trip to NY. Now Facebook will be working for me, no matter where I will be. Zoom

The step is very important because we will see exact numbers of money spent and number of new page fans.

The reasons why I decided to start with Facebook:

  1. A Facebook page is connected with the Blog; that means that each new post in the Blog will automatically update the Facebook Page and the Tweeter account. Why would I wish to write a Blog post if no body would really read it?
  2. Facebook ads tool provides statistics. I targeted countries far from home: US, UK, Belgium. And I didn’t invite any person from my contact list.

Tomorrow I will be going to a trip to NY. Now Facebook will be working for me, no matter where I will be.

The project’s Web site is ready! Even it was available since a few months ago now I could say the information it contains is more accurate. Why the trees background? because a forest means to me a way of being interconnected. An ecosystem that looks for balance. Something similar to what I believe is the small business experience. Zoom

Not so long ago I read that statistics aren’t so important for defining the success rate of a Web site. I must agree with that. It is very likely that a site lime mine or yours will not get huge numbers of visitors and that should not be a reason to let the “web project” aside. I advise using Google Analytics. It is a free service and can track number of unique visitors, from where are they coming and how they found your site. In the near future I will make a full post about how to integrate Google Analytics with a SharePoint Site. The book: Crush it! - Gary Vaynerchuck.

Facebook page is created. It wasn’t easy because looks like Facebook is experiencing some issues with their servers. I will post later about linking the Tweeter account and Tumblr account. I need to experiment.

@1000wsp Twitter account is created. After this post I will connect my Tumblr blog to it so all next posts will automatically appear on Twitter. Because I have other Twitter accounts I use a super tool: TweetDeck. It lets me see almost everything that I need in one screen, even multiple accounts! Zoom
